The best GTM tools for Claude Code and Codex (2026)

The best GTM tools for Claude Code depend on how much of the motion the agent runs. OXYGEN puts tables, enrichment, sequences, a CRM and workflows behind one CLI and MCP server, with approvals and credit ceilings. It starts free, with paid plans from $49 a month. Another route is a DIY stack: Apollo for data, a sequencer such as Instantly, and HubSpot's Agent CLI for the CRM. Clay and Deepline run enrichment, and Firecrawl handles web research.

What makes a GTM tool work well from a coding agent?

A GTM (go-to-market) tool suits a coding agent when the agent can call it, run it unattended and cap what it sends or spends. Coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor work in a terminal, so the tool needs a CLI or an MCP server. A CLI is a command-line tool, and MCP is an open standard that lets AI apps plug into outside tools. Many unattended runs are headless: on a server or a schedule, with no browser for an OAuth sign-in and nobody at the keyboard. The tools also differ in what they cover. Enrichment adds emails and company facts to contacts. A sequence is a timed series of emails or messages. The CRM is where contacts and deals live.

1.OXYGEN Agentic marketing and sales platform

Best for: GTM engineers whose coding agent should build lists, enrich them, run sequences and update a CRM in one workspace, with approvals on paid steps.

OXYGEN gives Claude Code, Codex and Cursor the oxygen CLI with skills; Claude Code and Codex can also use its hosted MCP server. One workspace holds tables, sequences across email, LinkedIn and WhatsApp, a CRM with a deals pipeline, and hosted workflows. Enrichment waterfalls try providers in order until one finds the value. Paid steps and CRM syncs need --approved and a --max-credits ceiling, and a sequence launch stays a preview until you pass --approved.

Strengths

  • Every --json reply has the same shape, with a web_url when there is a page to open. Exit codes tell the agent to wait and retry (6), ask for approval (7) or fix its input (2).
  • Paid steps need --approved and a --max-credits ceiling, and a capped run skips the remaining rows instead of spending more.
  • Hosted workflows run on cron, webhook or event triggers under a default credit ceiling per delivery, so scheduled work keeps running after the terminal closes.

Watch out for

  • The hosted MCP server is untested in Cursor; there, run the CLI in the integrated terminal.
  • No contact database of its own and no Salesforce sync: leads come from data providers on credits, and HubSpot syncs both ways.
Starts at
Free plan; sending accounts need a paid plan, from $49 a month
Pick it if
Your agent should run the whole motion, from list to sequence to CRM, and stop for approval before it sends or spends.
Pick something else if
You run Salesforce, want a contact database inside the tool, or need one data call from a script.

2.Apollo.io Contact database with an MCP server, CLI and REST API

Best for: Coding agents that need Apollo's contacts and sequences, for example as the data half of a do-it-yourself stack.

In a do-it-yourself stack, Apollo can supply the contacts while a sequencer sends. Its hosted MCP server at mcp.apollo.io/mcp documents Claude Code and Codex setup and signs in with OAuth. Headless clients send a master API key in an X-Api-Key header; scoped keys are refused there. Its MCP tools search people and companies, enrich on credits, write contacts, deals and sequences, and send one-off emails after you confirm. Scripts can use Apollo's CLI or its REST API.

Strengths

  • Contact data behind the agent: company search and enrichment spend credits, while most of Apollo's other MCP tools spend none.
  • Published REST API rate limits: paid plans enrich at 1,000 calls a minute with no hourly or daily cap.
  • Most clients can set each tool to always allow, ask for approval or block, and Apollo recommends approval on tools that spend credits.

Watch out for

  • A headless MCP key must be a master key, and its requests act as the workspace's longest-standing active admin.
  • Free accounts registered with a personal email cannot use people or company search and enrichment through MCP.
Starts at
MCP on any plan, the Free plan included, at no extra cost
Pick it if
Apollo already holds your prospects and your agent needs data and sequences from one vendor.
Pick something else if
Your headless agent must call Apollo's MCP server with a scoped key.

3.Clay Data enrichment platform with a CLI and agent plugin

Best for: Clay customers who want Claude Code, Codex or Cursor to search Clay's data and run its enrichment functions from the terminal.

Clay's agent plugin installs its skills and the clay CLI in Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, on every plan, Free included. It needs a shell, so chat apps such as ChatGPT reach Clay through MCP for Reps instead. The CLI prints JSON for scripts, and exit codes separate auth failures (3), rate limits (4) and not-found errors (6). An agent can search companies and people, run Clay-managed functions and Workflows, and query tables.

Strengths

  • One plugin covers Claude Code, Codex and Cursor with the same skills and CLI.
  • Clean output for scripts: machine-readable JSON, no spinners, and distinct exit codes for auth, rate limits and not-found errors.

Watch out for

  • Joins across tables and synced queries need Enterprise. Clay's tables skill says clay tables query-live works below it, one table and 100 rows per call; its developer overview says Tables are Enterprise only.
  • Credit budgets that stop runs need Enterprise, and the CLI can attach a workflow to one. Clay's plugin doc still says budgets are not on the developer platform yet. The API can hold some commands for approval.
Starts at
Free plan; Launch from $167 a month billed yearly; Clay's docs put the CLI and API on every plan
Pick it if
Your enrichment already lives in Clay and the agent should run it from the terminal.
Pick something else if
You need joins across Clay tables, or a hard credit cap on workflow runs, below Enterprise.

4.Deepline GTM data platform built for coding agents

Best for: GTM engineers who want one CLI over many data providers, with Plays they can version and rerun on CSV files.

Deepline is built around the terminal. Its deepline setup command installs a hosted skill bundle for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI or Antigravity. The agent then runs Plays against CSV files. Its site counts 113 integrations and more than 3,700 tools, and Plays can write results to a connected CRM or sequencer. A per-run cap refuses an over-cap call before any provider work. The REST API takes a workspace API key, and MCP serves clients without a shell.

Strengths

  • A run cap that refuses the call up front, set per Play or with --max-credits on one run.
  • Managed data at published unit prices, such as $0.014 per email found, or your own provider keys with no markup.
  • deepline describe shows a tool's required inputs, price unit and credential state before anything runs.

Watch out for

  • No universal dry-run flag for Plays, and its docs warn that a budget stated in chat does not enforce a cap.
  • Outreach runs in a connected sequencer such as Instantly, which you pay for separately.
Starts at
Pay as you go at $0 plus usage; Growth $395 a month plus usage; 10 credits are $1
Pick it if
Your agent works file by file on CSVs and you want many providers behind one CLI with hard run caps.
Pick something else if
You want sending, a CRM and the data in the same tool.

5.HubSpot Agent CLI CRM with an agent CLI and remote MCP server

Best for: HubSpot teams whose coding agent should clean, update and bulk-edit CRM records from scripts or on a schedule.

HubSpot put its Agent CLI in public beta in June 2026. It is a separate binary for Claude Code, Claude Cowork and Codex, aimed at scheduled jobs and bulk work. Commands cover objects, pipelines, workflows, sequences, reports and imports, and read and write JSONL, one JSON record per line. Signing in with hubspot auth login keeps the user's permissions, and admin mode uses a service key. Every write command accepts --dry-run, and a local history logs destructive operations.

Strengths

  • --dry-run on every write command previews the change before anything is applied.
  • JSONL in and out: an agent pipes updates into a --dry-run, then reruns them, adding the digest and --confirm where required.
  • Available on all HubSpot products and plans, and OAuth sign-in keeps the agent to the user's own permissions.

Watch out for

  • Beta: HubSpot warns that commands, flags and behavior may change, and that writes can permanently delete live data.
  • Admin mode's service key carries broader permissions and leaves no per-user audit trail.
Starts at
All HubSpot products and plans; no CLI fee stated
Pick it if
HubSpot is your CRM and the agent should run bulk updates or cleanups from the terminal.
Pick something else if
You need enrichment or outreach from the same tool, or a CLI that is out of beta.

6.Instantly Cold email platform with a CLI and MCP server

Best for: Teams sending cold email from Instantly whose agent should manage campaigns, leads and sending accounts from scripts.

Instantly publishes a CLI, @instantlyai/cli, over its API v2 for campaigns, leads, accounts, email and analytics, with JSON output by default. Scripts set INSTANTLY_API_KEY with no prompt, and each key carries only the scopes you choose. Its instantly mcp command starts a local MCP server, and a hosted one needs no install. Its help center says every Outbound plan includes API access, while its pricing table marks API, webhooks and integrations only from Hypergrowth.

Strengths

  • Headless from the start: an environment variable, scoped keys and JSON output.
  • Published workspace rate limits of 100 requests a second and 6,000 a minute.

Watch out for

  • Automations in the app offer a Human Approval step, but the CLI and API start campaigns without one, so key scopes are the main guard.
  • A key is shown only once, and the CLI saves keys in a local config file you must keep out of source control.
Starts at
Growth $47 a month on monthly billing
Pick it if
You send from Instantly and want a scriptable sender next to Apollo in a Claude Code stack.
Pick something else if
You want the sending tool itself to hold an approval gate before a campaign your agent starts through the CLI or API.

7.Firecrawl Web scraping and search API with a CLI

Best for: Agents that research accounts on the open web: scrape sites, search, crawl and pull structured fields for scoring or copy.

Firecrawl covers web research, the step before an agent scores an account or writes copy. Running npx firecrawl-cli init sets up skills for Codex, Claude Code, Cursor and OpenCode. The CLI scrapes pages, searches the web, maps and crawls sites, runs agent jobs and schedules monitors that diff pages over time. Its Alexandria catalog adds work emails from providers such as Apollo. The CLI has no CRM or outreach commands, and firecrawl --status shows the credits left.

Strengths

  • Published cost per call: 1 credit a page on a basic scrape, and 2 credits per 10 search results.
  • Published rate limits per plan, from 10 scrapes a minute on Free to 500 on Standard.

Watch out for

  • JSON extraction adds 4 credits a page, and agent jobs move to dynamic pricing after 5 free runs a day.
  • No CRM or sequencer in the CLI, so pair it with a sequencer. Work emails come from Alexandria providers such as Apollo, at their listed prices.
Starts at
Free with 1,000 credits; Hobby $16 a month billed yearly; Standard $83
Pick it if
Your agent researches accounts on the web before it scores or writes to them.
Pick something else if
You need the same CLI to run outreach or update CRM records.

GTM tools for Claude Code FAQ

What GTM tools can I use from Claude Code?

Any tool with a CLI, an MCP server or an API Claude Code can call. OXYGEN covers lists, enrichment, sequences and a CRM in one workspace. Apollo supplies contacts, Clay and Deepline run enrichment, Instantly sends cold email, HubSpot's Agent CLI updates the CRM, and Firecrawl researches accounts on the web. Codex and Cursor can run the same CLIs and connect MCP servers.

How do I add an MCP server in Claude Code or Codex?

In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http <name> <url>, then run /mcp and complete the OAuth sign-in. In Codex, add the server URL to its MCP configuration; OXYGEN's docs connect it with ?toolset=core, which lists a smaller set of tools. Apollo documents both clients; HubSpot's Agent CLI and Clay's plugin skip MCP setup and install a CLI with skills instead.

Should a coding agent use a CLI or an MCP server for GTM work?

A CLI suits longer jobs in a terminal. The agent pipes files in and out, branches on exit codes, and the same commands run in a script or a scheduled job later. MCP suits clients without a shell and quick lookups. Deepline, Clay and HubSpot steer coding agents to their CLIs. OXYGEN offers both, and its docs make the CLI the main route for Claude Code and Codex, with large files imported through the CLI.

How do I give a coding agent credentials for headless runs?

Use a key the vendor issues for that purpose and keep it in an environment variable or secret store, never in a prompt. Instantly reads INSTANTLY_API_KEY with scopes you choose, and HubSpot's admin mode reads HUBSPOT_ACCESS_TOKEN. Firecrawl reads FIRECRAWL_API_KEY, and Apollo's MCP server needs a master key in a header. OXYGEN creates a token with oxygen api-keys create and stores it with oxygen auth use-token.

What can run unattended, and what should need approval?

Reads and previews can run unattended. Sends, CRM writes and paid enrichment need a human or a hard cap first. OXYGEN previews sends and launches until you pass --approved and refuses paid steps without a credit ceiling. HubSpot previews writes with --dry-run, and Deepline refuses calls over a run cap. Apollo recommends approval on tools that spend credits, and Clay's API can hold some commands for approval. Instantly's CLI and API docs describe no approval step before your own sends.

Is a DIY stack of Claude Code, Apollo and a sequencer good enough?

For many teams, yes. Claude Code writes the glue, Apollo supplies contacts, a sequencer such as Instantly sends, and HubSpot holds the records. The cost is the glue: three sets of keys and three rate limits, plus the scripts Claude Code writes to connect them. OXYGEN keeps lists, enrichment, sequences and the CRM in one workspace, so a reply on any channel stops that lead's sequence.

How do I stop an agent from overspending or hitting rate limits?

Set the cap in the tool, not in the prompt: Deepline's docs note that a budget stated in chat does not enforce a cap. OXYGEN and Deepline take --max-credits on a run, and OXYGEN skips rows past the ceiling instead of charging. For rate limits, read the published numbers, such as Apollo's per plan or Instantly's 6,000 a minute. Then retry on the exit code: 6 in OXYGEN, 4 in Clay.
